Graduate Faculty Status

Guidelines
The following process is offered to clarify the language that appears in Article XVIII: Graduate Program (page 27) and Appendix E: Graduate Faculty Status (pages 54-55) of the Collective Bargaining Agreement

  1. Individuals desirous of attaining Graduate Faculty status shall apply to the University Graduate Curriculum Committee (GCC). To do so, please send a completed GCC Application for Graduate Faculty Status, accompanied by your curriculum vitae, to the Chair of the Graduate Curriculum Committee with copies to your Department Head and the School Dean.

  2. The GCC will notify the faculty member, the Department Head, and the School Dean of their recommendation.

  3. The Department Head and School Dean will forward the recommendation from the GCC to the Vice President for Academic Affairs with their comments and recommendation.

  4. The Vice President for Academic Affairs will indicate final approval or denial of the individual's candidacy for Graduate Faculty Status and notify the faculty member, the GCC, the Department Head, and Dean.

  5. Individuals who apply for Graduate Faculty Status and do not hear from the GCC or the Vice President of Academic Affairs within 60 days of the date of application should contact the GCC and the Vice President of Academic Affairs to inquire about the status of their application.
